Howard Business School to Offer Program in Leadership for MinistersWASHINGTON (March 5, 2013) – The Howard University School of Business has announced a new Executive Leadership Program for Ministers. This five-day executive program will be taught on the campus of Howard University by the School of Business faculty. The spring course will run from April 8-12.
Recognizing that today’s complex church organizations increasingly rely on leaders who are highly competent in business and fiscal affairs, the Executive Leadership Program for Ministers includes intensive study of strategic leadership, church growth business cases, strategic planning, financial management, technology, social media strategies and other topics.
“Pastors and church leaders are notably called upon to be the preachers, teachers, activity coordinators and counselors within their congregations,” said Kim R. Wells, director of Executive Education at the Howard University School of Business. “However, effective management of the church is often the difference between a successful and growing congregation and one stagnated with inefficiencies, poor communication and revolving members.”
The Executive Leadership Program will include a behind-the-scenes site visitation to be hosted by one of the area’s fastest-growing churches. It will also include a closing luncheon with a traditional School of Business pinning ceremony and certificate presentation.
