WHO:
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) honored Jeffrey S. Bartel, Esq., managing director, Hamptons Group, LLC, The Honorable Wifredo A. Ferrer, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Marlon Hill, Esq., partner, delancyhill, P.A., Calvin Hughes, news anchor, WPLG-ABC 10, Bacardi L. Jackson, Esq., Tucker Law Group, LLC, and Eve Wright, Esq., vice president and associate general counsel for the Miami HEAT. The event’s Mistress of Ceremonies was Neki Mohan of ABC Local Channel 10.

WHAT:
TMCF’s First Distinguished Young Leader Awards, part of TMCF’s regional “Awards of Excellence” program.

WHY:
To honor deserving individuals under the age of 45 who have achieved excellence in their respective professions and who are following in the footsteps of Justice Thurgood Marshall with proven leadership skills, community involvement, professional and civic excellence, as well as contributions to education and diversity.
